makgeolli is an unfiltered rice wine from korea that has a slight effervescence or slightly fizzy texture and a milky appearance. it is the oldest korean alcoholic beverage brewed since the three kingdoms era. there are traditional options with a slightly sweet flavor profile or options that are flavored.
